This feature request is quite simple really, I think due to the dwindling player count, new free to play players should be allowed to join matches the same as premium players, just to boost the player count. Either that, or it should be made VERY OBVIOUS to free to play people that what they're playing is not the same as the full game. It's a demo, not the full game.
I get the general notion that people who get the free to play version don't realize that it's a demo, because it's pretty obscure how much of the content you actually miss out on by going the free route. As a result, I think free to play people should be able to join into matches with premium players, to see what the game is actually like and boost player counts. It's a great game, but I'd say 95% of free to play people just assume it's the full game and are angry when the matchmaking fails to find a demo match. So? I don't think people should have to buy premium to find a match and experience the fun of the game. A couple free to play footsoldiers bostering matches would make the game much livelier, and reduce the harsh reputation the game gets as being "dead". The game is not dead, the demo is. So this needs revised, free to play players should be able to experience the full game before paying for premium, because like I said, 95% of people think the game is dead from their free to play experience.
This problem needs to be erased immediately. You're much more likely to get new premium members if the demo is not such a demo, and people can actually enjoy the game a bit, to fall in love with it and want to pay for new content. Me? I also thought the free to play version was the full game, and was repeatedly disappointed trying to find a match. As such, these people are very likely to stop playing entirely. There needs to be a removal of this "pay to play" format when it comes to matchmaking, and the "Battle Now" feature for free to play players should find matches like any premium user. Also, free players should be able to pick the province they want to play, like a premium member. The game desperately needs new blood and this setup is preventing that from happening. And sure, maybe people should read more between the lines when they download the free version expecting the full game, but most people wont think about this, and will write bad reviews as a result. It's killing the game, and giving it repeated negative reviews on gaming apps like Steam.
So, please, do something about this right now. Open the doors for free players, or stop making the free to play demo downloadable.
