Up front, I admit this is something that would be best implemented down the line. However, I think cosmetic items awarded through Kill counts against specific enemies would be pretty neat. That is to say, kill X many enemies from this faction (say 500 for the sake of demonstration) and you receive a cosmetic item as listed in the examples below.
As Space Marines, kill 500 of the following and get:
Orks: Left arm deathwatch skin, designed along the lines of MK III armor with the extra bit sticking up on top (canonically, SMs who have been in the Deathwatch can choose to wear the silvered left arm if they so choose, IIRC).
Chaos: Shiny Aquila for breastplate. Alternatively, an Icon of the Inquisition.
Eldar: Different Deathwatch skin for left arm (slimmer and less bulky, perhaps).
As an alternative for one of the above, a Master Crafted power pack, the one with the eagle heads where the shoulder vents usually are. Or potentially a Crux Terminatus or Crux Argentus. There may already be plans for those, though.
As Orks, kill 500 of the following and get:
Space Marines: Looted Pauldron. The most precious thing a Space Marine has. To make it interesting, have it be a pauldron from one of the non-playable chapters.
Eldar: Soulstone flash. Maybe a big old necklace of soulstones. Alternatively, an Eldar helmet on a spike. Or as a modded, Orky helmet. Maybe.
Chaos: Chaos head(s) on a chain.
As Chaos, kill 500 of the following and get:
Space Marines: Some ornate and finely detailed piece of wargear, like an extra flashy Chaos icon, or a helmet with non-standard horns.
Eldar: The skinned remains of an Eldar hung off a pauldron, with helmet and/or soulstones to make it apparent.
Orks: Ork head(s) on a chain. Payback's a b**ch.
As Eldar, kill 500 of the following and get (full disclosure, I do not know Eldar lore that well):
Orks: Ork heads? Orks and their possessions don't really have much aftermarket value.
Space Marines: I am drawing a blank here. I don't want to say Space Marine heads, because that would probably fit better with the Orks.
Chaos: Shoulder pads with extra soulstones, given for exceptional courage in facing the great enemy.
These are just ideas that could eventually be implemented. They would represent significant cosmetic options that could only be earned. This is by no means a complete or comprehensive list; if you have a better idea, feel free to list it below.
