An individual character’s base ammo is limited and must be resupplied in the field through consumables, supply drops, etc. However, you always get your ammo refilled when you respawn and there are unlimited sources of ammo at your spawn points so a side never really entirely runs out.
There’s definitely something cool in the survival experience of counting your remaining bullet boxes, but it’s different from the game we’re making where we always want you to have the resources to play your class.

In my opinion it's the most fun, playing veteran and being forced to use your pistol and melee after taking down enough enemies to run out of ammo. You realy feel epic surviving long enough to completely run out of ammo. (this doesn't count for Devestators who just cowardly stay braced and fear of enemies getting to close XP )
