We do indeed have a couple of plans to address these issues in the coming weeks:
1. The lobby matchmaking pop-up will display the number of players matched per faction (it may display the individual players' names as well, but this will come in a later update if we decide to include it).
2. We are considering displaying in the in-game scoreboard players who disconnected (and maybe players who are pending as well, but this too is uncertain).
Of course, both of the above updates would only convey information status, not necessarily improve the system itself.
We are also considering changes to the deployment phase, such as applying rules regarding minimum roster and balance conditions, like those in matchmaking. As it stands now, a match doesn’t trigger unless a relatively equal number of players are the lobby.
Each map has different rules, but let's say for example, on one map, a match can only start if there is a minimum of 10 players in each faction, with a maximum difference of 3 players between them. This is currently only done at matchmaking phase, leaving it entirely possible for players to drop before deployment, with one faction at 10 and the other at 15, if two players of the former faction were to drop out in between the matchmaking and deployment phases. With a proposed fix, we would be waiting for additional confirmation (during deployment) that the factions are balanced before starting the match.
